Party People Alert: Emergency Kegger At Vox Populi

Date: October 20, 2006 3:10:22 PM EDT

Hello –
Just a quick note about a benefit worth attending this weekend…For those who are not in the know – Vox Populi is an local galley/collective who are being forced out of their building due to Philadelphia Convention Center expansion. This displacement and move is going to cost Vox several tens of thousands dollars. Here’s the PW story

with all the gory details.

Vox has allowed us to host dozens of shows over the last few years (Man Man, Animal Collective, Thurston Moore, SUNN 0))), Growing, Need New Body, Comets On Fire, Wolf Eyes, Sun Ra Arkestra Peoples, Acid Mothers Temple etc). They have been amazingly patient and understanding with us and more importantly they have hosted some of the better / more interesting art displayed on their walls for even longer.

Now they need our help. The gallery has to move (yes, really, it’s finally official) so they’re throwing a party.

If only helping friends to move were always this easy!

Details after the jump…

This Sunday October 22 5 PM
All Ages / 21+ To Drink / 1315 Cherry St., 4th floor
$10 (proceeds to help with the move)

You’ve had more than $10 worth of beautiful/horrifying/awe-inspiring art-seeing, first Friday beer-drinking, creative people-meeting, and general rocking out at Vox. This is a benefit for us all!

Stretch your weekend — nothing good ever happens on Monday anyway =)
