LOS ANGELES TIMES: Singer and songwriter Robin Gibb — who with his brothers, Maurice and Barry, made up the Bee Gees — is gravely ill in a London hospital, according to British media reports.Although past reports have said he was battling liver cancer, Gibb has not acknowledged that publicly. Until recently Gibb, 62, seemed to be making what he called a “spectacular” recovery from surgery to remove a growth from his colon. Then, late last month he was hospitalized for intestinal surgery. Sigur Rós will return to North America for their first live shows since 2008 including a stop at The Mann’s all new Skyline Stage July 30th. The trek, which will see the band playing major summer festivals in addition to their own headlining shows, will be in support of their forthcoming sixth studio album, Valtari, released on May 29th, 2012 on XL Recordings. Developing… DAILY NEWS: Philadelphia developer Bart Blatstein wants to build a casino, entertainment and retail complex on the property he now owns along Callowhill Street between Broad and 17th and turn the iconic Inquirer/Daily News building into a hotel. Stretching over three blocks, the development will be anchored by the only downtown casino in a “top five major city,” Blatstein said, and will be a major economic engine in North Philly.
