NBC 10: Earlier this season a field jumping Phillies fan got tased making national headlines. On Monday night all it took to stop a field jumper was Braves outfielder Matt Diaz. In the bottom of the seventh inning with the Phils leading 3-1 in the critical NL East battle, Sean Hagan, dressed in a red full bodysuit reminiscent of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’s Green Man bolted onto the Citizens Bank Park field. Fans were speculating that he drank too much “riot punch.” The spandex-wearing fan evaded security guards, even causing one to fall flat on his face as he juked and jived around the field. As the red-clad fan turned to see where guards were, Braves left fielder Diaz stepped up and tripped the guy. Hagan, 17, was then tackled by security and escorted off the field. “I saw this idiot coming right at me,” Diaz said. “I figured he’d be better off getting tripped than Tased.” MORE

INQUIRER: The 17-year-old, whose name was not released because he is a juvenile, was charged today with misdemeanor counts of disorderly conduct, defiant trespass and disrupting a meeting.The Red Flash’s parents apparently were in no great rush to get him out of custody. He was being held this morning at the Youth Study Center. MORE

ACTION NEWS: After nearly a full day in police custody, the parents of a teenager who ran onto the field at Citizens Bank Park dressed in red spandex during Monday’s game against the Atlanta Braves have finally picked up him up. When Hagan’s parents finally arrived to pick the boy up from custody on Tuesday afternoon he was still wearing the red tights. He had been held since Monday evening. “He did the wrong thing and it’s not to be glorified,” said mother Barbara Hagan. “He has to pay for what he did wrong.” MORE
