Dear Faithful Friends and Customers,
After eight years of slugging it out in the Italian Market, Molly’s Bookstore is closing its doors. A general shift in the bookselling industry and personal circumstances has simply made it inevitable. I can truly say that I spent my lifetime in the book business and can say, with some qualification, that I am a third generation bookseller. (My grandmother sold “girlie” magazines in the 60s and 70s.) The nature of the business has changed so much in the past few years. The reliance on Amazon to supplement sales made it much more of a clerical task than it used to be, much less social and more competitive. I found myself working harder and harder and still unable to make ends meet. The decision was not easy and comes with all kinds of emotion: sadness, relief, excitement…I will be running a clearance sale over the next couple of weeks to help clear the space for my next endeavor. From Thursday July 10 through Sunday July 13, all books will be 50% off the marked price. From Thursday July 17 through Sunday July 20, everything will be 75% off. The bookshelves will also be for sale.
Warmly and with Appreciation,
Molly Russkakoff

The decision was not easy and comes with all kinds of emotion: sadness, relief, excitement…
I will be running a clearance sale over the next couple of weeks to help clear the space for my next endeavor. From Thursday July 10 through Sunday July 13, all books will be 50% off the marked price. From Thursday July 17 through Sunday July 20, everything will be 75% off. The bookshelves will also be for sale. Please come, shop voraciously and help me clear out the space for Project 360: Self-Directed Learning for Teens.
Project 360 (www.project360teens.org) is a nonprofit resource center that makes homeschooling a real alternative to traditional schooling. We will offer classes, workshops, connections to internships, apprenticeships and other opportunities in the city, support for families and, perhaps most importantly, a social place for kids to be once they’ve left school. We are modeled on North Star (www.northstarteens.org) , a center in Hadley, Massachusetts, that has been operating successfully since 1997. But don’t get me started on this or I’ll go on for pages. I was talking about the bookstore…
Please be advised that the storefront will remain a source for books when Project 360 takes over, as part of an entrepreneurial program. However, it will be run by a collective of teens and will sell handcrafted items and other stuff as well.
Please forward this email to anyone who might be interested in great book bargains, or, for that matter, any family with a teenager who’s unhappy in school. If you have any inquiries, feel free to call 215-923-3367. I will be in touch with updates and events connected with Project 360. I hope I see you at the sale.
Warmly and with Appreciation,
Molly Russkakoff
