Jamie Lynn Spears, the 16-year-old star of Nickelodeon’s Zoey 101 and younger sister of Britney, told OK! magazine that she is pregnant and that the father is her boyfriend, Casey Aldridge. “It was a shock for both of us, so unexpected,” said Spears, who is 12 weeks along. “She was very upset,” Spears said, “because it wasn’t what she expected at all. A week after, she had time to cope with it and became very supportive.” Lynne Spears, already grandmother to Britney’s two young sons, told OK!: “I didn’t believe it, because Jamie Lynn’s always been so conscientious. She’s never late for her curfew. I was in shock. I mean, this is my 16-year-old baby.”Jamie Lynn, who declined to talk about her sister, plans to raise the baby in her home state of Louisiana — “so it can have a normal family life.” [via INQUIRER]

DOPE: Grinch Steals Christmas Cops Beat Back Buckeye Marijuana Menace
EATON, Ohio — Seizing marijuana in Christmas wrap is starting to become a habit for troopers who patrol Interstate 70 in western Ohio. On Dec. 8, the State Highway Patrol confiscated 25 pounds of marijuana wrapped as Christmas gifts in the trunk of a car after a traffic stop. And on Tuesday, troopers said they stopped a vehicle and found 45 pounds of Christmas-wrapped marijuana valued at $102,000 inside suitcases in the trunk. Twenty-three packages in wrapping paper from the latest stop were displayed by the patrol. The driver, Qiturah H. Muhammad, 23, of Danville, Pa., and passenger Shawn E. Williams, 25, of Mifflinville, Pa., were each charged with trafficking in marijuana and possession of criminal tools, according to the patrol. If convicted, each could face up to nine years in prison. [via ASSOCIATED PRESS]
