BY ASHLEY MYERS Arcadia is an exclusively eco-friendly boutique located in the middle of Northern Liberties. The boutique has been providing Philadelphia with a variety clothing and accessories, vintage designs, and showcasing local artists and designers since September 2007. Arcadia came to Philadelphia after owner AliMcCloud saw a need for eco-friendly fashion in Philadelphia. Before opening the boutique, McCloud lived in New York, attended FIT, and did a thesis focusing Green fashion. The boutique offers mainly women fashions with a small selections of men and children clothing as well. The boutique carries an array of designers local to Philly and from around the world. A line new to Arcadia is Prairie Underground, a company out of Seattle that uses all organic cotton. Although new to the store, this designer is sure to be a top seller. If you’re looking for the perfect piece of 
jewelry look no further than The Black Spot Books Necklaces, which are wearable and usable miniature books and one of Arcadia’s top selling products. The necklaces are made by Philly designer, Margaux Kent and are a unique holiday gift. Arcadia is more than just a Philadelphia boutique focusing on the latest ineco -friendly fashion. It is also a space for emerging and local artists to showcase their work. Every 6-8 weeks the boutique put a new artist’s work on display. This exhibition is kicked off by a party thrown on either the First Friday or Second Thursday of the month. The art show is usually combined with a trunk show which shows a larger portion of a designers work while showcasing a new artist. Another event hosted by Arcadia is a yearlyeco-friendly fashion show which happens during the week of Design Philly.
