New feature on Scrapple TV News: once a month we will bring our pal Jamie from the SPCA on to talk about some swell new doggie with a hard-luck story and in need of a home. We start off with Mila, who came into the shelter as a stray on April 4, 2010. She was a sad sight, covered in tar and mud, and was immediately a staff favorite because of her amazing spirit and willingness to give us love, even though she clearly hadn’t had anyone to care for her for quite some time. This 2-3 year old pit bull terrier mix is currently the longest resident of the city’s high volume open admissions shelter and her time is running out. Mila is great with children, but can be selective about her K-9 friends. Because of this, we want Mila to be the only pet in the home so that she can get all the love and attention she deserves. Check her out at Animal care and control team, 111 west hunting park avenue (hunting park at front street) adoption hours are Monday through Friday 1 PM — 8 PM, Saturday and Sunday, 10 PM to 5 PM.
