Mustaches for Kids is a volunteer-run organization started in Los Angeles in 1999 to do good and have fun by growing Mustaches for children’s charities. Our charity of choice is Donors

THE IDEA SOUNDS COOL, BUT WHAT DO I HAVE TO DO, EXACTLY?
Nothing actually ‘happens’ until Shaving Day, at which time, per Mustache Rules, all Growers must shave their faces clean of any and all facial hair.
And then the fun, and fundraising, starts. Check out our website for the growing season schedule and some more details. www.m4kphiladelphia.org
HOW DOES THE FUNDRAISING THING WORK?
The typical donor/grower interaction goes something like this:
Donor: “Why are you growing a mustache?”
Grower: “It’s for charity.”
Donor: “Really?”
Grower: “Yup. I’m growing this sweet mustache for four weeks and asking
people for donations. All the money goes to local teacher-submitted
classroom projects that I chose myself. You’ll feel good, you’ll help kids
learn, and it’s tax deductible.”
Donor: “Can I hug you?”
Remember, donors aren’t pledging based on the quality or quantity of the
‘stache. The mustache is just a catalyst for getting people to support a
good cause. Quite an effective catalyst, we might add. You’ll see. Trust us.
