AMY MADHOUSE: London Cops Crowbar Winehouse’s Flat After Arresting Hubbo

amywinhousekiss.jpgPolice raided the London home of Amy Winehouse, using a crowbar to force open the door. The singer’s spokesman said she was not there at the time and that drugs were not involved. British media said the raid was related to the arrest of Winehouse’s husband and several other men on suspicion of trying to pervert the course of justice. Photographs in British newspapers yesterday showed police officers forcing open the home in Camden, north London. “The only thing I can tell you is that it has nothing to do with drugs and that Amy is fine and she has not been charged or arrested,” spokesman Shane O’Neill said. British media reported that the investigation concerned Winehouse’s husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, who is due to stand trial next week on charges of assaulting a barman. [via ASSOCIATED PRESS]

FRATRICIDAL MANIAC: Brother Charged With Strangling Sisters, Aged 6 And 10

psychotweaked.gif Lt. Thomas Sullivan, chief of detectives for the Gloucester County Prosecutors’s Office, said that when officers arrived on the scene — a blue ranch-style home at 505 Red Bank Ave. — about 8:30 p.m., they encountered the suspect threatening to do harm to himself. He held a knife to his stomach, police said. Police talked to him through the front door, holding him at bay for 90 minutes — until a SWAT team subdued him with pepper spray, Sullivan said. The slain sisters were identified as India Duncan, 6, and Aliah Scott, 10. Both were strangled, according to autopsies performed today. The 20-year-old man charged with strangling his two young half-sisters and chasing his mother around the house with a claw hammer is being held in an undisclosed location, Gloucester County authorities said today. MySPAM: Viral Phishing Expedition Targeting Gullible Young Folks

myspace-sucks.jpeg NEW YORK (CBS) — Social networking giant MySpace stumbled to its knees at the hands of a cyber superbug recently, falling ill to a severe phishing epidemic that is plaguing a vast and vulnerable segment of its membership. The viral scam, which targets the site’s younger users, promises victims a free $500 Macy’s gift card. It sounds like a steal. And actually, it is. It’s the stealing of a member’s identity. The spam scam involves users unknowingly sending their MySpace friends e-mails and posting comments on their profiles that plug a ploy for the supposedly free gift card that they’ll never actually see, touch, or spend. In fact, to lead the younger members on, the ads are written in “kids-speak.” One such posting starts off by telling the victim, “Hey dude, check it out! You ain’t gunna believe this!” [via CBS]
