BY AMY Z. QUINN Ah, the old pumpkin-in-the-bra trick. That always kills. Cutting the legs out from under her still-anonymous blackmailer, Miss NJ Amy Polumbo took to the “Today” show to release the supposedly scandalous photos herself, hours before pageant officials were set to review her case and possibly strip her of her crown — but don’t look for that to happen, unless there are more, and dirtier, photos of Polumbo out there. Because right now, it sounds like the snapshots fall squarely under the “Two Dorks And a SixPack” category. (If you’re especially impatient, the first photo comes at around 3:25.)
From the AP story by my old bud Wayne Parry, who is probably enjoying this story in ways I can’t even begin to enumerate:
The pictures include one showing what Polumbo said was her boyfriend apparently biting her breast through her shirt, another of Polumbo in a limousine wearing jeans with her legs spread in the air and another of her in what appears to be a Halloween costume dress holding two small pumpkins up to her breasts.
“It’s not in a ladylike manner. I’m not a robot. I’m a human being,” Polumbo said. While she conceded the photos were embarrassing, she also said they were playful.
Speaking of her friends, many of whom can be seen in the pictures, she said: “We’re crazy. We act out SNL (Saturday Night Live) skits all the time.”
There also were photos of the beauty queen drinking, but Polumbo insisted she was of legal age when they were taken.
Never mind the actual photos, what I find interesting is the difference between Polumbo’s wardrobe choices for her two “Today” show appearances — first time around she sported a strapless pink satiny top. This morning it was Schoolmarm Chic, with the demure yellow sweater set. Smart girl.
MYFOX: The Shocking Pictures!
UPDATE: I’m watching this “Today” show interview again and liking this chick more and more each second. My advice to her? STOP APOLOGIZING. Stop calling your actions in those photos “foolish” — you haven’t done anything wrong. You have been wronged — acting goofy with your friends is OK. Using those photos to try to humiliate you is just tacky. And hey, it might even be a felony! God, I love New Jersey.
