SH*T MY UNCLE SAYS: Cruel & Unusual Cost-Cutting

HENRY If you’ve read any of my commentaries you know that I’m no shrinking violet (Google it) when it comes to politics, but I’m thinking it would probably be best if I exceed the recommended dosage of my hypertension meds for this one. Let me begin by saying that what we’ve got here, in the immortal words of Strother Martin, isn’t just “failure to communicate.” Actually, it goes far deeper than that. It is, and for many decades has been, a TOTAL failure of the Democrat political representation in America to come to grips with, and aggressively EXPOSE, the inbred and unrelenting Plutocratic/Anarcho-capitalistic (Google it) tenets and goals of their opponents on the other side of the isle. And, yes, I’m very much aware of the fundamentalist Christian “devilry” at work here as well, but I’m saving most of that for my next Avapro refill.

That being said, consider the unassailable: How the f _ _ k do you deal, much less compromise, with people who think that Ayn Rand belongs in the company of (or one step above) the Apostles; people who believe that Attila the Hun was about 16 centuries ahead of his time; and, people who believe that all of that crap melds PERFECTLY with their Christian convictions?! Can you spell, “U N c o m m o n  f _ _ _ _ _ g g r o u n d”?!

I don’t know about you, but I don’t want my grandsons living in some stone age, “f _ _ k you, I’ve got mine, go get your own,” only-the-greediest-survive, self-aggrandizing nation. Nor do I want them living in a country where only the guys with the most gold make all the rules. And, I goddamn sure don’t want them living in a country where the needy and the neglected are forced to live in ghettos and forage in garbage dumps! But that is EXACTLY where we are heading if the Radical Right gets its way. For the HUNDREDTH f _ _ _ _ _ g time, it isn’t spending on social welfare programs that has put us where we are! The real culprits are far more sinister: Congress’s WILLFUL and SHAMEFUL TOTAL ABDICATION of its fiscal OVERSIGHT responsibilities; and, their near (and in many cases, absolute) CRIMINAL COLLUSION with LOBBYIST PIMPS in the establishment and maintenance of government spending PRIORITIES!

Listen carefully. Our government has never, I repeat, NEVER undertaken (and God forbid should ever MAINTAIN) a thorough, in-depth, top-to-bottom, no-holds-barred examination of its expenditures! NEVER HAPPENED! How the f _ _ k can that be?! For Christ’s sake, GAMBLING ADDICTS do a better job of managing their finances! TRILLIONS of dollars have been, and continue to be, squandered on waste, duplication, abuse, fraud and corruption! Do you know that more than 1.1 TRILLION dollars is simply MISSING! That’s not a joke, folks, it’s a goddamn FACT! They call these missing funds “undocumentable adjustments.” That’s government speak for, “We don’t have the slightest f _ _ _ _ _ g idea where it went or what happened to it.” Can you even IMAGINE what this country could have done for itself with just a portion of that money?! Even Charles Lutwidge Dodgson couldn’t make this shit up! Are you beginning to get the picture?!

Now, with respect to priorities, let us consider this rarely publicized (and, by God, you can sure as hell understand why!) gem: We spend as much on OUR military as the NEXT 18 COUNTRIES COMBINED! That’s f _ _ _ _ _ g COMBINED, folks! Meanwhile, the Right Wing threatens to CLOSE the country down if the Democrats don’t capitulate to their demands for cuts to social welfare programs. They insist upon TAX BREAKS for BILLIONAIRES while schools get shuttered, police and firemen get laid off, and THOUSANDS of families are forced to live in TENTS. They turn a blind eye to BILLIONS upon BILLIONS in subsidies for giant corporations already raking in truly OBSCENE profits, while widows with nothing to live on but Social Security see their heating oil assistance slashed or eliminated! Jesus Christ!, do I have to go any further?! I swear to God, is there a Right Wing bastard alive today who can even spell the word D E C E N C Y?!

So, the next time one of those inside-the-beltway birther bastards tells you that we have to destroy the social fabric of this great nation in order to save it, tell them to get THEIR f _ _ _ _ _ g house in order before they start gutting everyone else’s! And, by the way, while you’re at it you might also want to request petri dish proof of THEIR origin!
