BY ASHLEY MYERS Reverie, located on Girard near 2nd, is a consignment shop for vintage wearables, collectibles, and furniture. The store opened on Valentine’s Day 2008 and is owned by 4 women: Brady Sanders, Christa Cywinscky, Nicole Marcote, and Ana Troncoso. The idea for a consignment store came when Nicole (owner of Quince, right next door to Reverie) told Anna and Brady about the open store space available on 2nd and Girard. The women all shared an interest in fashion, art, reusing and recycling, and thought it would be a great space to unload some of their stuff. The store is not only a focused on selling vintage goods, but is also a place for local artists to showcase their work and handmade goods. Every second Thursday the ladies of Reverie host OnGirard, a “fashion, art, music and Girard Ave celebration. The event reveals new items, a new featured artist, and live music. On Girard started in September and the women hope through it to promote their block and as Brady said it’s “our way of creating a sense of place.” The current artist on display at the store is Marissa Verechia. Currently, Reverie works with a team of professional photographers to allow clientele to dress up in their favorite vintage styles and capture it. The women also provide you with a free personal shopper service. If you’re not quite sure what you’re looking for,  just ask and whoever is working will help find the perfect outfit or gift based on your personal fashion sense and budget. In the near Reverie plans to offer a “clean out service” to help those who have an attic, garage, or basement overflowing and no desire to clean it out themselves. The hope is to use this as another avenue for getting merchandise into the store. Reverie currently works with close to 200 consigners and has a variety of men and women fashions available. With the holiday season right around the corner, Reverie is the perfect place to find unique gifts at affordable prices.
