KILLADELPHIA: 3 More Dead Since U Went To Bed

skeleton_running.gifINQUIRER: A 34-year-old man, who lived in an apartment above the restaurant he owned – Wings and Things – in the 2300 block of South 65th Street, was killed as he returned home at 1:47 a.m., said Lt. Mark Deegan of the police department’s homicide division. Two men confronted him in a robbery attempt. He resisted and was shot more than once in the chest.

skeleton_running.gifHe was pronounced dead at 2:08 a.m. at Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. The man’s name has not been released because relatives have not yet been notified. No arrests have been made. Shortly after midnight a man was killed in the 1300 block of South Paxon Street, also in southwest Philadelphia, in a domestic dispute with his common-law wife.

skeleton_running.gifThe man, 65, was stabbed once in the torso. His common-law wife, 52, was charged with his killing, Deegan said. Police did not release either name. In North Philadelphia, Peter Styles, 25, was found on a sidewalk in the 2300 block of North Colorado Street after having been shot several times in the chest. Styles, who lives in that neighborhood, was pronounced dead at Temple University Hospital at 2:38 a.m. Deegan said police had made no arrests in the case and do not know a motive for the shooting.
